CID's IG Mr. Sunil Kumar Chowdhary appointed Asansol Durgapur Police Commissioner

In a significant overhaul, the state police department witnessed a major reshuffle of four senior IPS officers to key positions within the state. The transfers, approved by the state government, aim to bring dynamism and enhance efficiency in police administration.

Mr. Sudhir Kumar Neelkantam, the outgoing Police Commissioner of Asansol Durgapur, has been assigned the crucial role of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the West Bengal Police Department. Mr. Neelkantam's exemplary service in maintaining law and order led to this recognition.

Taking charge as the new Police Commissioner of Asansol Durgapur is Mr. Sunil Kumar Chowdhary, the Inspector General (IG) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), known for his vast experience and strategic acumen.

Mr. Sanjay Singh, previously the Additional Director General (ADG) of Correctional Services, will now handle the responsibilities of ADG Armed Police, leveraging his expertise in the armed forces.

Replacing Mr. Singh, Mr. Laxmi Narayan Meena assumes the role of ADG of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB). His meticulous investigation skills are expected to bring a fresh perspective to crime data and records.
